Patience is a Virtue

Dear Friends,

As a younger Adult I never really liked my name 'Patience' and I would ask my parents over and over again why did you guys choose to call me Patience? and my Dad would respond in his deep calm voice, "Patience is a virtue"... hnmm..."whatever that means", I'll say to myself.

Fast forward to today on my way to work... a thought crossed my mind which said; "everything that you always wanted as a younger adult/teenager has actually come to be and even more" and you know what? It is soooo true!

I remember as a teenager, I was very eager to be independent- to have my own house, car, live by my own rules and so on, I even fantasized about falling in love and having my own love story... guess what? I really did not have to do anything for all of these to happen. Mind you, I made several failed attempts to bring them to pass more quickly, of which I still regret some of my actions but the lessons have been learnt and I am glad that I can share it with you so that you do not have to do the same. As the saying goes, "Experience is NOT always the best teacher". It is better sometimes better to learn from the experience of others.
Time happened and somehow all of these came to be and now I even long for those days without them because with all of my wants and longings came a lot of responsibilities.

My point basically is, if you are in that phase of "...I just cant wait..." Sweetie, please wait! be patient.
Be patient with life, be patient with your parents, be patient with yourself because guess what? Believe me or not, all the things you just cant wait for to happen now, will come and you are going to miss these teenage days, these moments, this age, this luxury called Parents, be patient because "Patience is a virtue".

I love you all.
